Aventuras Akumal is in the southern tier of nieghborhoods. It is about a 10 minute drive from Akumal Centro and about a 15 minute drive south to Tulum. 

The soft sand beach is one of, if not the best, beach in Akumal. There are a couple of watering holes and eateries as well as a well known and respecteed Dive Hotel and facility. There are a few priveledged homes in a quiet neighborhood.
